JANE WALLACE Obituary

JANE A WALLACE
"One did not just meet Jane Wallace; one experienced the excitement of life with Jane Wallace, and that is the memory and experience that we will treasure forever." Jane Ann Wallace, 55, of Fredericksburg Virginia, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 20, 1960 in Fort Worth, TX, Jane graduated from Southwest High School in Fort Worth, TX in 1978, and followed up with a degree in Industrial Design from North Texas University in 1986, as well as a Master''s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. Jane was a successful entrepreneur, a pioneer in the e-commerce world. As a business owner, she was always able to "see around corners for her next brilliant idea". In 2003, Jane ventured into the world of real estate, eventually opening her own very successful brokerage in Fredericksburg. Following the merger of her company, RE/MAX BRAVO, with Long & Foster Real Estate, she continued her journey as the managing broker of the Long & Foster office in Reston, VA. Giving back was at the center of Jane''s heart. She proudly served on the boards of the Fredericksburg Museum, the Fredericksburg Country Club, the Germanna Foundation, the Reston YMCA, and the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors. She is survived by her son, Donald John "D.J" Westerbeck of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Kylie Whitten Westerbeck of Fredericksburg, VA; her mother and step-father Beverly and Bob Kouri; sister, Linda Dilling; and her loving companion Hunter Janney. She was preceded in death by her father, John Moxley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday December 12, 2015 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. I found that I always stood a little straighter, spoke a bit more carefully, and listened more intently when I was around Jane. She seemed to bring out the best in everyone. She led by example. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known her. And, I know that our community will not be the same without her to brighten our days.
