MARGARET McGEHEE Obituary


MARGARET McGEHEE "Billie" (Age 93)  
Of Silver Spring, MD died peacefully on Saturday December 19, 2015 at Riderwood retirement community. She is survived by five children, 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the cherished wife of the late Travis S. McGehee. Billie was born and raised in New York City, proudly served during WWII in the naval cryptographic services translating deciphered communications, then earned a masters in nursing from Yale on the brand new GI bill. Devotion to family, church and public service were the hallmarks of her life. A celebration of her life will be held on January 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, Laurel, MD.

I was happy to serve with Margaret for several years at Colesville Meals on Wheels and to be a fellow parishioner at St John the Baptist Parish. She will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
