THADDEUS KEGELMEYER Obituary

THADDEUS JAMES KEGELMEYER  "TAD" (Age 56)
Husband, brother and friend, passed away at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital on June 2, 2016 in Rockville, MD. Tad was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 14, 1959 to Gretchen Schwarz and Frederic E. Kegelmeyer. He is survived by his wife; Joni C. Kegelmeyer of Rockville, MD, his brother William J. Kegelmeyer of Annandale, VA and his father Fred of St. Augustine, FL. Tad was a talented Architect and successful entrepreneur. He was most proud of the Interior Architecture and Design firm he created in 1995, Eiger Consulting, Inc. A dedicated friend and mentor to many he enjoyed helping and guiding others in their own endeavors. Above all Tad was generous to family, friends and strangers alike. Tad retired in 2013 to care for his mother whom we lost to cancer on July 24, 2013. Tad enjoyed many things - Most of all he loved to travel. He was a lifelong student of World War II. He knew something about everything imparting his vast knowledge to others in many a discussion. He enjoyed golf, a good cigar and an afternoon with a friend of which he had many. Tad was far too young to leave this life and will be greatly missed by his brother and friends but none more than his wife. Tad and Joni were inseparable doing most everything together to include working side by side to make Eiger the success it became. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 12 Noon to 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home located at 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA. In lieu of flowers, it was Tad''s wish that donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project, American Cancer Society or the LiveStrong Foundation.
