PATRICIA ANN McFARLAND (Age 63)  
Of Alexandria, VA, lost her valiant battle with endometrial cancer on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.Patty was a beloved makeup artist at the shared NBC, MSNBC and CNBC television studios on Capitol Hill for nearly two decades. Throughout her career she helped presidents, senators, movie stars and royalty, including Princess Diana, prepare for events and on-camera interviews. The makeup room at the NBC studios has been renamed "Patty's Place" in her honor.She is survived by daughter, Sherry Lynn Zveare Shilling of Parkton, MD; brother, John McFarland (Diane) of Bowie, MD and their adult children Brett and Kasey, as well as dear friends Sheri Gibson of Alexandria, VA and Sacrey Dobbins of Denver, CO, whom she considered family and were by her side until the end. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Navy CWO2 Tommie C. and Virginia Charleane McFarland of Oxon Hill, MD.A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 1 p.m., at Cedar Hill Funeral Home, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Suitland, MD 20746. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, 4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax, VA 22030 via check with "McFarland Memorial" in the subject line. Monetary donations to the shelter will also be accepted at the memorial service.
