OCIE ASTON Obituary


OCIE L. ASTON (Age 94)  
Of Fairfax, VA died peacefully at home on January 24, 2017. Ocie was born on October 9, 1922 in Carrsville, VA and graduated from Carrsville High School in 1942. A WWII veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy from February, 1943 until March 1946. Ocie was a self-made man who together with his wife Pat, built a successful fire protection business in Charlotte, NC where he lived until he retired and moved to Rockledge, FL. While in Florida, he enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening. He moved to Fairfax, VA in 2011 to be closer to family. He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Patricia "Pat" Aston, his parents, George and Agnes Aston of Suffolk, VA and a brother, Bob Aston of Suffolk, VA. He is survived by his son, Michael (Lou Allen) of Neptune Beach, FL; daughter, Deborah Sullivan (Frank) of Milford, OH and daughter, Catherine (Fred) of Vienna, VA; two grandchildren, Brian Sullivan and Jordan Rodgers and one great-grandson Nicholas Barnes. A private ceremony will be held at a later date in Rockledge, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
