Gresens, Sandra A.

Sandra Ann Gresens, age 81, of Wausau, died peacefully on August 3, 2016 at Mountain Terrace, Wausau and is now with her Lord and Savior.

Sandra was born on October 22, 1934 in Janesville, Wisconsin. The daughter of Lucille (Sell) and Herman Ulrich. She married Monte H. Gresens on April 22, 1995. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2007.

Sandra lived most of her life in Madison, Wisconsin. She worked at Ohmeda Corporation, and many years as a church secretary at Bethel Lutheran Church where she met Monte.

After she met Monte, they enjoyed traveling together. They visited Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, South America, Canada, Germany and Spain. They also enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan near their getaway home in Manitowoc. Sandra was an acquired dancer from a young child into adult life. She spent many years clogging with a group of friends. Sandra loved to dance!

Sandra was a Beta Zeta sorority sister for 48+ years. She held many officer positions and attended many state and national conventions (Epsilon Sigma Alpha). Sandra enjoyed helping the children of St. Jude. She also knitted numerous baby caps for newborns at Meriter hospital in Madison.

Her survivors include step-children Janean (John) Andrus, Julie Deverell, Hugh (Pam) Gresens, Faye (Paul) Zernicke, Karla (Greg) Tennant, 11 step-grandchildren and 4 step- great grandchildren.

We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Mountain Terrace for taking such good care of Sandra, and the staff of the Interim Hospice Program. We appreciated their compassion.

A memorial service for Sandra will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday August 7, 2016 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wausau. Pastor Ken Albers will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Sandra will be entombed at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
