Viola Robbins

BARRY, Ill. -- Viola Robbins, 89, of Barry, died at 7:02 a.m. Monday (May 2, 2011) in Blessing Hospital, Quincy.

Mrs. Robbins was born May 29, 1921, in Hadley, to James Samuel Olen and Nora Bell Easley Hastings. She was married to Roy Earl Robbins. He died Jan. 22, 2001.

Mrs. Robbins was a homemaker. She enjoyed Bible study class, canning and cooking, and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include children, Willis E. Robbins (Linda) of Bay Minette, Ala., Bonnie D. Robbins of Barry, Jerald W. Robbins (Patricia) of Pittsfield, Lynda J. White (Kevin) of Quincy, Rodney D. Robbins Sr. (Lena) of Hull, and Cherryl A. Robbins of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Violet Howell and Florence Lierly, both of Pittsfield; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mildred Louise Cox; a granddaughter, Christina Lynn Roberts Kolthoff; and 10 brothers and sisters.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, Mo. Pastor Quentin Beard will conduct. Burial will be at Kinderhook Cemetery in Kinderhook.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Robbins' grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Robbins' granddaughters.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal.
