Wilma Trapini Obituary

Wilma Hibbert Trapini, 76, of 301 N. Eighth St. and formerly of Camp Point, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday (May 28, 2011) in Blessing Hospital.

Wilma was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Quincy, a daughter of William and Elma Hulse Hibbert. She married Vince Trapini on March 14, 1953, in Gallup, N.M., and he preceded her in death.

Wilma was a graduate of Proviso High School in Chicago. She was a production worker at Davis-Cleaver, then Swift Eckrich working for 29 years until her retirement.

She was formerly a member of the United Methodist Church in Camp Point and was currently a member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church in Quincy.

Wilma really enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and visiting with her friends was always a great joy.

Survivors include her children, William "Bill" Trapini and his wife, Brenda, of Quincy, Theresa Gebauer and her husband, Ed, of Concorde, N.C., and Cathy A. Stephens and her husband, Matt, of Quincy; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a great-grandson, Jonathan DeVerger.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Scott Grulke. Interment will be in Paloma Cemetery near Paloma.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: American Diabetes Association.

Theresa and family: I am SO sorry to hear about your Mom...she was such a special lady. I truly looked forward to seeing her everytime I visited my mom; she was a true joy at the puzzle table!!
May your memories sustain you at this difficult time and bring you peace..I will truly miss her! She truly adored her children and grandchildren.
