Carol CHANDLER Obituary

Carol Chandler, 59, of 2409 N. 12th, Quincy, died at 2 a.m. Wednesday (June 1, 2011) in her home.

Carol was born Nov. 7, 1951, in Marion County, Mo., a daughter of Earl Lee Roy and Leona Domzalski Hart. She was raised in the home of her mother and adopted father, Paul Dietrich. She married Dean E. Chandler on June 21, 1969, in Quincy. He survives.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing in the pool league with her husband and traveling, having taken several cruises and travelling extensively throughout the United States. Carol was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol was previously employed as a bookkeeper and secretary at State Street Store and then in the offices of McDonald's restaurants. She later was the office manager, working with her husband, at Chandler Heating and Air Conditioning.

Survivors include her husband, Dean; her mother, Leona Dietrich of Quincy; a daughter, Selena Stegeman and her husband, Kent, of Quincy; two sons, Schuyler A. Chandler and his wife, Elizabeth, and Sean P. Chandler and his wife, Dena, both of Quincy; 12 grandchildren, Jordan Stegeman, Lindsay Chandler, Schuyler Chandler Jr., Ethan Chandler, Peyton Stegeman, Gweneth Chandler, Madison Chandler, Emily Chandler, Cassidy Chandler, Peter Chandler, Xavier Chandler and Mariella Chandler, all of Quincy; four brothers, Ron Dietrich and his wife, Gail, of Maywood, Mo., David Dietrich and his wife, Ann, of Quincy, Alan Dietrich of Springfield, and Mark Dietrich of Quincy; three sisters, Dorothy Decker and her husband, Dennis, of Quincy, Sue Flachs and her husband, Jack, of Quincy and Marty Redington and her husband, Tom, of Hannibal, Mo.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Earl Hart; her adoptive father, Paul Dietrich; a grandson, Alexander H. Chandler; and a brother in infancy, David Hart.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnaud Devillers conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and until time of services Saturday morning in the funeral home. A Christian wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

ARRANGEMENTS: Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Blessing Cancer Center.
