Ricky Lee Simpson

Ricky Lee Simpson, 51, of Quincy, died at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday (May 31, 2011) in his home.

Born Dec. 11, 1959, in Quincy, Ricky was a son of James Waldron and Yvonne Lepper Simpson. He married Carla Croomon April 7, 1997, in Kansas City, Mo.

Ricky enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, working in his yard, going to garage sales and flea markets, and loved his dogs, Bubbles, Rocky, Buddy and Lucky. Funloving, with a sense of humor, Ricky will be remembered for playing jokes on family and friends.

Mr. Simpson was employed as a forklift operator in various warehouses in Kansas City, Mo., for several years.

Survivors include two sisters, Tamara M. Jackson and her husband, Robert, of Quincy and Kimberly Commons of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Susan Simpson of Quincy; seven grandchildren, including Nathan Kiesling, Crystal Beach and Samantha Beach, all of Kansas City, Kansas; 10 nieces and nephews, Sonya Sue Snyder, Mandy Simpson, Jayme Simpson, Renee Simpson, John Simpson, Nick Simpson and Ashley Simpson all of Quincy, Michael Beckman of Wisconsin, Jimmy Owsley of Illinois and Jeffrey Harris of Bradenton, Fla.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a close friend, Ronda Smith of Quincy.

Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Milo Kurt Simpson; and an uncle, Virgil Lepper.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. George Tomko conducting. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park.

VISITATION: At time of services Monday morning in the funeral home.
