Doris Sheehan Obituary

Doris F. (Travis) Sheehan, 91, wife of the late Robert L. Sheehan, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, after a period of failing health. Born in Boston, Jan. 12, 1922, she raised her family and resided in Easton for 57 years. Mrs. Sheehan served in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant and was stationed in Manila during World War II as a general duty nurse in the operating room and as a ward nurse in the surgical unit. Upon honorable discharge from the service, she was employed as an RN at Brockton Hospital and at the former Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton. Later, she was employed as the school nurse at the Southeastern Regional Technical High School in Easton, where she retired in 1980 after 11 years of service. Doris is survived by her children, Kevin J. Sheehan and his wife Carolyn of Boston, Robert L. Sheehan Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Norwood, Christopher Sheehan and his wife Heather of Brockton and Kathleen M. McGrady and her husband Robert of Brockton; 10 grandchildren, Caitlin W. Sheehan of Boston, Erin M. Sheehan of Boston, Robert P. Sheehan of Norwood, Brian M. Sheehan of Brockton, Collin R. McGrady of Brockton, Kelly A. Sheehan of Brockton, Cameron P. McGrady of Brockton, Christopher L. Sheehan of Brockton, Megan E. Sheehan of Boston and Matthew A. Sheehan of Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Friday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton. Interment with military honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton. Visiting hours were Thursday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Doris memory may be sent to F.O.R.E.- For Our Residents of Easton, c/o North Easton Savings Bank, P.O.
