Mary Newton Obituary

Mary E. (West) Newton, of Holbrook, passed away Dec. 10, after a brief illness. She was 60 years old. Mary was born in Brockton, and raised and educated in Holbrook. She had been a resident of Holbrook for 60 years. Mary worked for the New England Telephone Company and Verizon for 27 years. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Nascar. Mary especially loved her nieces and nephews. Beloved wife of Gary Newton of Holbrook. Loving daughter of Elizabeth (Albinger) and the late William West of Holbrook. Cherished sister of Bill West and his wife Linda of Bridgewater, Bobby West and his wife Susan of Brockton, Richard West and his wife Karen of Concord, NH, Mark West and his wife Nancy of Holbrook and Paul West and his wife Alice of Brockton. Loving aunt of 15 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. Daughter-in-law of Gladys and the late Augustus Newton and sister-in-law of Larry Newton, all of MD. Services were held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37), Holbrook, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marys name can be made to National MS Society, Greater New England Chapter, P.O. Box 845945, Boston, MA 02284-5945.
