Charles Liolios Obituary

Charles John Liolios Sr., 84, of Carver for the past eight years, formerly of Brockton, died Feb. 26, 2013, at Life Care Center of Plymouth. Born and raised in Brockton, a son of the late John and Agnes Liolios, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the 1092nd Combat Engineering Group during the Korean War. He was employed as a leather cutter for Barbour Welt and Randy Shoe. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992. He was a member of Plympton Congregational Church and Elks and D.A.V. Chapter 76 and past commander there. In past years, he was a member, choir member and deacon at Christ Congregational Church U.C.C. in Brockton and Cub Scout Master at Waldo Church. He was a New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Charles was the beloved husband of D. Edyth (Campbell) Liolios for 63 years; loving father of Charles J. Liolios Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Plymouth; devoted grandfather of Kyle Liolios and Molly Liolios; brother of George Liolios of Lakeville, Nick and Donald Liolios of Brockton and the late Evelyn Zion, Florence Saulenas and John and Arthur Liolios; and an uncle of many. Calling hours were held Friday, March 1, 5-7 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, followed by a 7 p.m. service in Waitt Funeral Chapel. Private burial. Dear Skip, Edie and your beautiful family, my brother Mark just called me to let me know the sad news! We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad..I always called him Mr. Liolios...aw..he was such a wonderful man and I have many fond memories of him teasing me as a young girl..He was always smiling and was so kind....we will always think of him with a warm heart.
