Bethaney Swanson Obituary

Bethaney Swanson, 57, died Dec. 8, 2012 in her home in Williston.
She was born in Owasso, Mich. Jan. 26, 1955 to Kenneth and Helen Gooding.
She met Jeremy Swanson while attending college. They married July 30, 1977.
In 1982, the Swanson family moved to Indiana to begin ministering to their new local community. This season was filled with adventurous times homeschooling, bike riding, sledding and trips to the library with her young sons.
In 1987 the family loaded up a Ryder truck and moved to Williston. 1990 proved to be an exciting year with the birth of her daughter and her real estate career with Harriett Downs, Real Estate.
She quickly fell in love with Williston and Williston quickly fell in love with her. She was a lover of life and servant of God, family and her community. She loved sunshine, planting flowers, laughing and dancing. She was a magnetic and loyal friend adding light and adventure to every situation.
On Good Friday, April 22, 2011 she was diagnosed with colon cancer, she fought long and hard and with optimism and a smile. She was fully healed when she stepped into the arms of Jesus and left a legacy of life well lived.
She is survived by her husband; her three children, Benjamin, Israel (Allyson) and Hannah (Jordon) and grandsons, Noah and Zeller on the way; her brothers, Bill and Rick Gooding and sister, Theresa.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at the Williston Church of God with a memorial service to follow at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Williston.

Dear Jeremy,
When I think of you and Bethaney, it was as a singing pastor and a full of life wife. You had a pet name for her which doesn't come to mind hard as I try. Toad? I remember you all with love.

Dear Jeremy, You may not remember me, but Beth and I were dear friends through high school/college. I reached out via Facebook several years ago, but of course did not receive a response. Today I discovered, (after looking at your page), that she has passed on. I am very saddened. We helped each other through some hard times back then; she made me laugh and made me feel special. I will never forget Beth; I loved her.

I met Bethany when she put my home on the market and began showing me homes in 2010. She was such a nice nice person and full of life. I moved from that area to Tampa this time last year. I had spoken to her a few times before I moved and she was so positive that she would beat this with her faith in the Lord and her family. I moved from that area to Tampa this time last year. For some reason I was drawn to pull up this site today. I was so sorry to read of Bethaneys passing. She was such a happy, loving person and I enjoyed my times spent with her. My Prayers go out to all of her family and may God Bless all of you.

Although I did not see Bethany much, when I did she was always smiling and polite. It was a shock to see she had passed. I pray comfort for her family. In the arms of her savior now. No more pain.

My thoughts are with her family. I worked with Bethaney at Harriett Downs Real Estate. Bethaney was a very sweet person, who would of done anything for you. She also loved her family and her job, which she was very good at. She loved to make people happy. She will be truely missed.
