POPLIN NORTH WILKESBORO ~ Sam Henry Poplin, Jr. Sept. 23, 1944 ~ Nov. 5, 2011 Mr. Sam Henry Poplin, Jr., age 67, of North Wilkesboro died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Smith and the Rev. Ronnie Millsap officiating. The body will be placed in the Church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday night. Mr. Poplin was born in Surry Co., on September 23, 1944, to Sam Henry Poplin, Sr. and Margaret Tharpe Poplin. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Poplin was employed with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles where he was an inspector. Mr. Poplin is survived by his wife, Karen Martin Poplin of the home; one son, Sam Kristopher Poplin of North Wilkesboro; his mother, Margaret Tharpe Poplin of Ronda; and one sister, Blanche Poplin Gallo and husband, Vincent of Lewisville.
