Zachary Rushing Obituary

RUSHING KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Zachary Andrew Rushing, 23, a former resident of 1525 Eagle Watch Lane, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Houston, Texas. Born in Winston-Salem on October 5, 1986 to Mark Andrew and Cindy Sink Rushing, he had made this area his home for his entire life. He was employed with Bison Profab in Magnolia, TX and was of the Baptist faith. He attended the Summit Church, Union Cross Baptist, and Friedland Moravian Churches. He enjoyed playing basketball, and loved all sports especially UNC and the Redskins. He was a person with a very caring nature, a magnetic personality, who had a ready smile and laugh and enjoyed the company of others. Along with these friendly traits he was a staunch animal lover who will be greatly missed by his two legged and four legged friends alike, including his dog, "Henry". Surviving are his parents: mother, Cindy Whitehead of Kernersville, father, Mark Rushing and wife, Dana of Winston-Salem; his grandparents, Danny and Frances Sink, Harold and Elsie Rushing, Jack and Ruby Mickey and Linda and Larry Jarvis; great-grandparents, Ernest and Virginia George and F. L. and Nona Sink; his stepsister, Hannah Tucker of Winston-Salem; and his girlfriend of 3 years, Erica Williams. Memorial Services will be on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Friedland Moravian Church with Rev. Carol Foltz officiating. The family will receive friends following the Service. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Humane Society of the Piedmont, 4527 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409, www.hspiedmont.org, 336-299-3060 in Zachary's memory.
