Richard Rucinski Obituary

Rucinski, Richard "Dick"

Richard (Dick) Rucinski, father, husband, and grandfather, was called to heaven Saturday, July 23, 2016, peacefully at Riverview Hospital at the age of 67.

Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Alexander's Catholic Church, Port Edwards, WI. Rev. John Swing will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday and Friday at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Bertha Rucinski. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terry (maiden name - Thomas) Rucinski of Bancroft; children, Jenny (Rick) Hoerth of Oshkosh, WI, Joe (Sharon) Rucinski of Manitowoc, WI, Beth (Tom) Madigan of Reedsburg, WI and Mike (Marjorie) Rucinski of Pasadena, CA and grandchildren, Mark, Jackson, Ryan, Mason, Jacob, Clara, Sam, Zach and Josh.

Dick is also survived by his brothers, Bob (Judi Schuler) of Laramie, WY, Jim (Bev) of Wisconsin Rapids, Bill (Sue) of Murfreesboro, TN, Roger of Wisconsin Rapids, Jerry (Joan) of Wisconsin Rapids and sister, Marie (Joe) Farmer of Wausau.

Dick had a full life based around love of his family, the outdoors and farming. Dick was a founding member of the Seneca Rough Riders, later named the Tri-City Riding Club. He spent his younger years as a professional team roper and traveling to Montana with Gordy Sullivan to visit the Batey's ranch. As the years went on, he also brought his boys on hunting trips to Montana. For 60 years, an annual tradition was to spend a week every summer vacationing in Chetek with his family, fishing, swimming, chatting and enjoying each other's company.

Dick was a jack of all trades and was always willing to drop everything and help his family and friends. There was never a time he would not stop to visit and he quickly became friends with anyone he would say howdy to.

"The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Garde and his team, Dr. Lucas, and the entire medical staff at Riverview Hospital for their excellent care and compassion."

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Nekoosa, WI.

July 28, 2016

I'm going to miss you Dick and I'm going to miss our phone conversations especially when I would hear, "Hey, it's me, ol Dick." I think about how spontaneous and generous you were when someone needed your help. It was given freely without expecting something in return. What a positive impact on others. Thanks for holding my hand when I felt overwhelmed. Thanks too for all the good times. Tell Mom and Dad I love them and you too. I know you're with God and making a ruckus in Heaven
