Anna Louise Childress Lawson Anna Louise Childress Lawson, 89, of Richlands, VA, passed away on Sun., Nov. 28, 2010, at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Born in Pike County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Kenis and Nannie Rose Childress. She was formerly employed by General Telephone Company and H&N Shoes and was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Loyd Benton Lawson, Jr.; one grandson, Loyd Benton Lawson III; three sisters, Bertha Akers Beavers, Maxie Mullins and Maggie McGraw; and four brothers, Alex Childress, Luke Childress, Henry Childress and Stewart Childress. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Loyd Benton Lawson Sr.; one daughter, Lynda Lawson Whittington and husband, Keith, of Johnson City, TN; one sister, Bertie Wright of Bristol, TN; daughter-in-law, Margaret Lawson; grandchildren, Lynn Hallford and husband, John, Lisa Lawson, Kevin Lawson and wife, Tammy, Bobby Lawson and wife, Julie, Charles Lawson, Brian Whittington and Adam Whittington and wife, Pilar; and great-grandchildren, Ian Richardson, Noah Richardson, Jordyn Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Robert Lawson, Kole Lawson, Madline Lawson and Allie Whittington; special friend, Helen Blevins; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thurs., Dec. 2, 2010, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, VA, with Rev. Stafford Compton and Rev. Robert A. Buckles officiating. Entombment followed in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers were grandsons, nephews and friends. The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wed., Dec. 1, at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, VA.
