Betty F. McGhee Betty Louise Ferguson McGhee, 76, of Rural Retreat died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at her home. A private graveside service was held at West End Cemetery in Wytheville. She was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Goshen, N.C., daughter of the late Richard and Viola Ruth Church Ferguson. She was retired from AT&T and attended all of the Trapp Hill High School Class of 1952 reunions. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Ferguson Jr. and Gene Ferguson. Survivors include her husband, Harold L. McGhee of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, H. Richard McGhee and wife, Lydia Katherine, of Belton, Texas; and two granddaughters, Sara Ann McGhee of Austin, Texas, and Jennifer Louise McGhee of Georgetown, Texas. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the announcements.
