Cox Evelyn Elledge Cox, 84, died Sept. 9, 2010 at her home. She was born in Gillam, W.Va., July 20, 1926. She was a 1946 graduate of Marion High School. She was also a graduate of Marion College and Radford College. She taught first grade at Riverside and Marion Primary schools for 30 years. She was a faithful member of South Fork Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Nannie Pennington Elledge, husband, Cameron Cox, and brothers, Everett (Buck) Elledge and Ernie Elledge. Survivors include uncle and aunt, Roy and Maggie Pennington; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and brother and sister-in-laws. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Mark Totten officiating. Burial followed at Round Hill Cemetery in Marion. The family received friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers were appreciated or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
