Flora Pruett

Flora H. Pruett Flora Havens Pruett, 97, of Bland, the Kimberling community, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in White Gate with the Rev. Ted Anders officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg. She was born June 4, 1913, in Bland County, daughter of the late Sheppard and Lillie Woods Havens. She was the last member of her immediate family, the oldest member of Salem United Methodist Church and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Pruett; a daughter, Margaret P. Miller; and brothers and sisters, Marvin Havens, Sidney Havens, Rufus Havens, Alfred Havens, Grace Fanning, Alice Hall, Edna Townley and Bertie Harden. Survivors include a daughter and sons-in-law, Lois and Randolph Davis, and Albert Miller Jr., all of Bland; six grandchildren, Jerry and Martha Miller, Brenda and Bobby Penley, Jimmy and Sherry Miller, Teresa and Ralph Pritts, Pam and Mark Hill and Robert Davis; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many friends; and many nieces and nephews. A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home in White Gate is in charge of the arrangements.
