Frances Sayers Frances Sayers, 77, of Bastian died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Bland Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Rudy Robinson and Paul Looney officiating. Interment was in the Morning Star Cemetery. She was born May 10, 1933, in Giles County, daughter of the late Fredrick Ervin Thorne and Minnie Belle Fleeman. She attended the Grapefield Church of God. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wesley Prescott Conley and Buddy Allen Conley; a brother, Fredrick Ervin Thorne Jr.; and a grandson, Lee Conley. Survivors include her husband, Earl F. Sayers of Bastian; three sons, Donnie Conley of Bozoo, W.Va., Joe Conley of Narrows and Jimmy Conley of Newport; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary Nance and Johnny of Ballard, W.Va., Gloria C. Lafon and Tony of Elliston; three brothers, Elmer Fleeman of Peterstown, W.Va., George Fleeman of Rich Creek and Jerry Fleeman of Princeton, W.Va.; five sisters, Louise Dent, Retta Dent and Maxine Carter, all of Narrows, Bea Long of Pembroke and Kathy Fleeman of Bluefield, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Marty Nance, Tony Lafon, Amanda Lafon, Daniel Conley, Rheannon Dudding, Prescott Conley and Lauren Conley; and five great-grandchildren, Wayne Nance, Dusty Nance, Ashton Lafon, Dillon Dudding and Nathan Dudding. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel in Bland was in charge of the arrangements.
