Gracie M. Poff Gracie M. Poff, a resident of Salem, VA, passed away on Thurs., Sept. 23, 2010. Mrs. Poff, originally of Tazewell, VA, was preceded in death by her husband, J. William Poff, her father, mother and four sisters. She is survived by three nephews, Michael T Reedy of Knoxville, TN, Alfred D. Torrence, Jr. of Staunton, VA and Edward J. Torrence of Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Poff was a graduate of Lewis-Gale School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Poff dedicated her life to assisting others through an extensive nursing career at Lewis-Gale and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mrs. Poff was also a long standing member of the Eastern Star. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 1, at Oakey's Funeral Service - South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave. S.W., Roanoke, VA. A grave side service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 2, at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rescue Mission of Roanoke.

Worked for Gracie for 5 years she was a good friend, each time we saw her was a happy time.She will be missed.

Gracie was a dear friend and co-worker. I will miss our phone calls and breakfasts together. I always enjoyed our times together and will miss her.
