Hattie (Louise) Hess Hattie (Louise) Hess, age 72 of Lebanon, VA, passed away Tues., Nov. 9, 2010, at her home. Born April 27, 1938 at Tazewell County, VA, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mabel Exie Proffitt Shelton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Carol Hess Raypole; three brothers, Bill Shelton, Otis Shelton and Walter Shelton; two sisters, Phyllis Lester and Hazel Shelton; and three grandchildren, Mikie Gross, Dwayne Gross and Gregory Jackson. She is survived by four sons, Ricky Allen Hess and wife Patty Sue Hess of Savannah, GA, Kenneth Wayne Hess and Debbie Aldrich of Savannah, GA, Victor Todd Hess of Sawmills, NC and William Gregory Hess of Richlands, VA; one daughter, Pamela O. Hess Sizemore and husband James of Lebanon, VA; two brothers, Cecil Shelton and Ruth Blankenship of Buchanan County, VA and Herman Shelton and wife Valerie of Ohio; grandchildren, Jermey Hess, Kenny Hess, Steven Jackson, Shane Raypole, Michelle Raypole, Anthony Hess, Moria Hess, Allen Hess and Kelly Hess; great-grandchildren, Jade Jackson, Heliegh Hess, Logann Hess, Autumn Hess, Gage Raypole, Cami Raypole and Chole Raypole. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 13, 2010 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, VA, with Rev. Rick Whitt and Rev. Grady McGlothlin officiating. Burial followed in the Proffitt-Shelton Cemetery at Horton Ridge, VA. Family served as pallbearers. The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Fri. at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff.
