Long Linda Parks Long, 62, of Sugar Grove, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. She was born July 21, 1948 at Sugar Grove to Jesse Leon and Madeline Fay Cornett Parks. Survivors include, her mother, Fay Parks Pafford; two daughters, Beverly Fay Burkett and Beth Long; two brothers, Jesse Parks Jr. and Leslie Parks; special uncle, Ralph Parks; special aunt, Edna Stevens; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in Bald Rock Cemetery, Flatridge. The Rev. Shannon Parks will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bald Rock Cemetery, 420 Green Gable Road, Troutdale VA 24378. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
