Brown Mary Magdalene Chambers Brown, 78, died Wednesday, July 13, 2010 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. She was born in Konnarock on April 11, 1932 to the late Joseph Harrison Chambers and Minnie LouBirdie Blackburn Chambers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Brown, three brothers, Arvil James Chambers, Charles Chambers and Everette Chambers, two sisters-in-law, Selma and Ivory Chambers, and a brother-in-law, Richard Blevins. She was a member of Friends Community Church in Saltville. She was employed at Rose's for 14 years and retired from Walmart after 11 years of service. She was a member of the Board of Directors for Laurel Valley Log Church in Konnarock. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna Lynn Hester and husband, Rick, of Sugar Grove; two brothers, Herbert Patsy Chambers of Chilhowie and Ernest and Willie Chambers of Suffolk; one sister, Ellen Blevins of Norfolk; a sister-in-law, Helena Chambers of Norfolk; two granddaughters, Felicia Coulthard and husband, Michael, and Jessica Oakes Kirk; a great-grandson, Nathan Oakes-Doane; a special family friend, Lori and Richard Sauls and children; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Pastor Mike Maiden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Laurel Valley Cemetery in Konnarock. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is in charge of arrangements.
