Mary H. Viars Mary Frances Hundley Viars, 74, a talented seamstress and childcare giver, also known as "Maw Maw," died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010. Funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Max Meadows Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. N.R. Taylor officiating. Interment was in the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. She was born July 28, 1936, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Walter T. and Annie Belle Lambert Hundley. She was a member of the Max Meadows Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Viars; a son, William D. Viars; and two brothers, Robert "Bob" Hundley and Walter "June" Hundley. Survivors include a son, Ricky D. Viars of Max Meadows; a daughter-in-law, Terri A. Viars of Max Meadows; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna V. and Steve Hassen, Rebecca "Becky" and Randy Watson, all of Max Meadows; like a daughter, Diana "D.D." Arnold of Max Meadows; grandchildren, Travis and Katie Viars, Randi and Robert McKinnon, Donya and Josh Saunders, all of Max Meadows, Jeremy Hassen and Deena Hassen, both of Princeton, W.Va., Nicole Viars, Casey and Eddie Eversole, Dalton Wade Arnold and Alissa Lawson, all of Max Meadows; great-grandchildren, Jasmine McKinnon, Tryson McKinnon, Cohen McKinnon, Annabelle Saunders and Eli Caleb Eversole, all of Max Meadows; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Hundley of Overland Park, Kan.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce H. "Punky" and Paul Brewster of Wytheville, Paige H. and Ty Jennings of Max Meadows; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Robert "Jim" Viars, J.W. and Judy Viars, all of Max Meadows; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Doss and Emily Jones, both of Max Meadows; many nieces and nephews; and special "little people," Jared, Curtis, Leigh-le and Olivia, all of Max Meadows. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
