Olivette Darnell Obituary

Darnell Olivette Hall Darnell, 83, died on Aug. 3, 2010. She was born Feb. 9, 1927 in Grayson County to the late Joseph Alexander and Grace Atwell Hall. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Garland Brown, Ernest Haulsey and James Darnell, seven brothers, three sisters, one son and one grandson. Survivors include two sons, Allen Haulsey of Marion and Michael Darnell and wife, Nancy, of Ruckersville; two daughters, Judy Grady and husband, Eddie, of Christiansburg and Betty Carol Hall and husband, Jack, of Marion; two brothers, Isaac Hall of Arab, Ala., and David Hall of Sugar Grove; one sister, Linda Pasley of Marion; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Rebecca Haga of Marion and Anita Ross of Sugar Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 6, at noon at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Brother David officiating. Private burial was conducted in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove. The family received friends Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 West Ridge Road, Wytheville, VA 24382. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
