Shirley A. Dunn Shirley Ann Dunn, 73, of Ivanhoe died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. She was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Marietta, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Baxter and Elizabeth March Ritchie; her biological mother, Lorna Ritchie; and a brother, John Ritchie. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Cotter and William of Ivanhoe, Julia Nichols and Carlos of Charleston, W.Va., Theresa Dunn and Brian Elswick of Nitro, W.Va.; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Dunn Jr. of Ivanhoe, Randolph Dunn and Melissa of Kilmarnock, Roy Dunn and Marchelle of Rural Retreat, John Dunn of Ivanhoe, Brian Dunn and Cindy of Charleston, W.Va., Gary Dunn of Ivanhoe, Mark Dunn and LaTasha of Ivanhoe; 22 grandchildren, John, Zach, Christopher, Randy Jr., Daniel, Tiffany, Tristan, William Jr., Sidney, Gary Jr., Lyndsey, Stephany, Taylor, Cassidy, Brian II, Juliann, Amber, Adrien, Anthony, Ashleya, Brian and Clare; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Ritchie and Michael Ritchie, both of Charleston, W.Va. The family will receive friends Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. (service time) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jean K. Lester, 430 W. Washington St., Wytheville, VA 24382. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
