Thelma S. Carter Thelma Ethelyn Six Carter, 86, of Wytheville died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010. Funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Jacob and Virginia Chandler Six. She was a member of the Original Church of God for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ules "Mouse" Carter; a grandson, Jamie Richardson; one brother; and five sisters. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Hall and Robey of Wytheville, Pam Carter of the home, and Janet Martin of Wytheville; three grandchildren, Tresi Corvin and David, Ashley Richardson and Daniel Martin Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Nikki Walters, Kati Corvin, Lorrye Corvin, Chelsey Corvin and Ella Richardson; two sisters, Beatrice Chandler and Ola Mae Patton, both of Wytheville; and several nieces and nephews. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
