Faye A. Strawbridge

RED LION Faye A. (Godfrey) Strawbridge, 72, entered into eternal rest at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at York Hospital. She was the wife of Terry L. Strawbridge, to whom she was married for 52 years. She was born in Winterstown, on December 21, 1939, and was the daughter of L. Arlene (Zellers) Godfrey of York and the late Arthur P. Godfrey. Mrs. Strawbridge was an LPN, working at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown and the former Seitz Nursing Home in Dallastown. She also did private duty nursing. She was a longtime and very active member of Winterstown United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Terry, and her mother, L. Arlene Godfrey, she leaves three children, James A. Strawbridge (Judy) of Red Lion, David E. Strawbridge of Red Lion, and Nanette M. Wagner (David) of York; six grandchildren, Josh, Jamie, Jeremy, James, Brittany, and Hunter; two brothers, Ray Godfrey and Dana Godfrey, both of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Winterstown U.M. Church, 12184 Winterstown Road, Felton, followed by an 11 a.m. service. Her pastor, the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck will be officiating. Burial will be at Winterstown U.B. Cemetery. Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, will be handling the arrangements. In Lleu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Winterstown U.M. Church, "Sound System", 12184 Winterstown Road, Felton, PA 17322. Faye was a wonderful wife to Terry and mother to her children. Her family always came first and her six wonderful grandchildren as she would say "ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE". She enjoyed collecting dishes and was a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
