Crystian Stokes

YORK Crystian "Tatie" Stokes, the daughter of Annette Monk and Jerry Stokes, was born on December 25, 1987, in York. On March 5, 2012, at the age of 24, she was ushered into Heaven, from her home. "Tatie" as she was affectionately called, was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She pursued a course of Study at Newman University, then matriculated to Millersville University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree. Tatie was a cheerleader, played softball, and was active in the "Bear Cat Den". She was employed by the City of York and had unconditional love for children. She worked at The Princess Street Center for the after school program. Tatie also worked for the Parks and Recreation Summer Program. Tatie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Geraldine Stokes and Uzell Stokes; her maternal grandfather, Arthur Monk; her great-grandparents, Allen Walker and Mother Marjorie Walker; and her uncle, William Monk. Tatie leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Annette Monk and Jerry Stokes; her sister, LaCresha Drayden of York; two brothers, Jerry Stokes and Matthew Coulter, both of York; her grandmother, Annie Monk of Dallastown; two aunts, Wanda Stokes and Diane Walker of York; five uncles, Stefan Stokes of York, Uzell Stokes of Dallas, Texas, and Arthur "Jr" Monk, Joseph Monk, and John Monk, all of New York; three nieces, Kenyla Drayden, Sayani Stokes, and Isabella Coutler; two nephews, Onazji Drayden and Bashir Drayden; her Godparents, Terri Banks and Alberto Illarza; three Godsisters, Wachovia Banks, Niecy Banks, and Nneka Banks; along with a host of other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Anthony W. Sease officiating. A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Abundant Life Ministries, 701 W. King St., York. Gladfelter Funeral Home, inc., York, is in charge.
