Ralph Hershey Obituary

YORK Ralph E. Hershey, Sr., 90, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Manor Care Dallastown. He was the husband of Florence I. (King) Hershey, who passed away on June 12, 2007. Mr. Hershey was born in Adams County, on September 16, 1918, the son of the late Allen M. and Alma H. (Chronister) Hershey. Ralph retired from the former Allis Chalmers as an assembler. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Dallastown American Legion Post 605. Ralph is survived by three sons, Ralph E. Hershey, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, Ronald E. Hershey and his wife, Patricia, and Rodney A. Hershey and his wife, Rebecca, all of York; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild. There is a graveside service scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N. George St., York. Officiating will be the Rev. Wesley S. Mast, from Heartland Hospice. All attendees, please meet at the main gate at 1:45 p.m. so that we can process to the gravesite together. Full military honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements were entrusted to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., York (Shiloh).
