Welby Waltemyer Obituary

AIRVILLE Welby B. 'Johnny' Waltemyer, 90, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2010, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Edna E. (Joines) Waltemyer, his wife of over 55 years. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 48 Muddy Creek Road, Brogue. The service will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Randy Starr officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Born October 27, 1919, in York County, he was a son of the late William and Agnes Jane (Burns) Waltemyer. In the past he had been employed for 35 years with the former E.E. Sinclair General Store, Airville. Johnny was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 20 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and having a good sense of humor. He was the last of 15 children of William and Agnes Waltemyer. In addition to his wife, Edna E. Waltemyer of Airville, Mr. Waltemyer is survived by a son, Mark Waltemyer and his wife, Lori of Red Lion; two daughters, Judy Hoerr and her husband, Jim and Tammy Henricks and her husband, Todd, both of Airville; and seven grandchildren, Tansy Peters and her husband, Seth, Jordan, Brittany and Micah Hoerr, Todd and Truman Henricks. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Building Fund, 48 Muddy Creek Forks Road, Brogue, PA 17309. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, is in charge.

to the family of (uncle bud) my prayers and thoughts to you . i will always remember him as ... uncle bud , cheerful ,a great friend to my mom and dad, a wonderful uncle, medicine to anyone he met. if you did not have the chance to meet him you lost out . you will be missed greatly by friends and family but i know you and dad are happy to be together again i love you uncle bud

I will always remember Johnny's smile. If you asked him how he was doing. Johnny would say "Good, youself?" I will miss that smile and wonderful Christian testimony.
