Anna Paull Obituary

YORK Anna M. Paull, 82, of West Manchester Township, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was the wife of The Rev. M. Benson Paull. Born October 3, 1932, in Gettysburg, a daughter of the late Luther and Clara (Hess) Shryock, she was a graduate of Shippensburg University, and taught elementary children in the West York School District. She retired early from teaching to be a homemaker and a helper to her husband in his ministry, and mother to daughter Susan. She volunteered for many years in the church, and as a reading teacher for persons with reading difficulties. Ann was disabled in recent years with Parkinson's disease and osteoporosis, but continued with courage, enjoying life with family and friends. During this time she was also appreciative of the support and companionship given by social service in-home support persons. She was a member of Saint Paul "The Pines" Lutheran Church, New Oxford, where her husband serves as Interim Pastor. In addition to her husband of 49 years, Mrs. Paull is survived by her daughter, Susan Paull Thomas and her husband, Tac of York; two grandchildren, Olivia and Gabriel; a brother, Robert Shryock and his wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Judy Thompson; two nephews, Thomas Shryock and Richard Shryock; and a niece, Cassandra Kauffman. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Christ Lutheran Church, 66 S. Main St., Manchester, with The Rev. Edwina Landry officiating. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 1535 Hunterstown/Hampton Road, New Oxford, PA 17350; or to Christ Lutheran Church, 66 S. Main St., Manchester, PA 17345.
