Wanda Whitson Obituary

Wanda Ruth Whitson, 79, left her earth earthly home to take possession of her heavenly home March 7, 2010. Wanda, born in Alex, Arkansas lived in Yuma since 1948.

Wanda spent this time caring for her husband, raising 3 children, caring for her home and serving her Lord and Savior. Active in her church, Wanda enjoyed working in Sunday school with her children ages 2-3. As if that were not enough, she cared for all seven of her grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. All of whom, say that their Mother/Grandmother knew how to love unconditionally, gave with her every being and with a spirit of joy that inspired them all. She was the one you called for everything from making a dress to how to apply texture to a wall. She was the definition of beauty and she was love: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. To say she will leave a void in our lives does not begin to express our loss.

Wanda is survived by her three daughters, Janice Campbell, Barbara Britt and Pam Knight; grandchildren, Carolyn Wichmann, Lori Soland, Terrie Humeniuk, Rebecca Hutchins, Ruthie Franks, Matt and Jessica Knight; six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson's Mortuary on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A viewing will be at 9:00 a.m.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the entire Emerald Springs staff for the careful attention to and compassion toward our beloved Mother and Grandmother over the past 3 years.
