George Foye

1933 - 2017

George Foye, a longtime Yuma resident, passed on June 5, 2017. He was born in Manchester, N.H., on November 27, 1933, to Francis and Margaret O'Callaghan Foye. After graduating from high school, George joined the U.S. Army and was transferred to France, where he spent 2 ½ years. Upon completion of his military service, he returned to New Hampshire, graduated from Hesser Business College and attended St. Anselm College.

In 1959, George moved to Yuma, AZ. He worked with John Nebeker CPA firm for 3 years, and then worked for Caldwell Equipment. After 5 years, he joined Paul Clark at Clark Ford, which later became Ranch Ford and finally Alexander Ford.

George was a former officer and active member of the Yuma Golf and Country Club. He was a former officer of the Yuma Jaycees and also a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion.

George was a loving father and was also one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Timothy Foye, his parents, his brothers Frank, William, Anthony, John, and Robert, and his dearly loved sister, Mary A. Otondo. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Carol, his siblings Edward Foye and Catherine Mulroy and his special nieces and nephews, Robert Otondo, William Otondo, Karen (Otondo) DeMiguel, Marcie Otondo, and Senator Lisa Otondo.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday June 10th at St. Francis of Assisi, 1815 S. 8th Avenue. A rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, June 9th at Johnson Mortuary, 1414 S. 1st Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Yuma.
