Eugene Dibari Obituary

Eugene "Gene" Richard Dibari

SOMERSET: Eugene "Gene" Richard Dibari, 72, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Pickering House in Lancaster, after a valiant fight against cancer. He was born on July 30, 1940, in New Lexington, to the late Vincenzo (Jim) and Anna Epifano Dibari.

Gene worked for Lempco for 11 years and retired from Diamond Power after 29 years, where he worked in Industrial Engineering and shop supervision. Then he spent 11 more years as the Perry County Commissioners' deputy clerk.

Gene deeply loved music and took organ lessons at the age of 30 from organist Mary Alten and sang in and directed the St. Rose choir for many years.

An avid gardener and cook, he took pride in preparing traditional Italian food to share with friends and family. At holidays, he enjoyed decorating with his many manger scenes and displaying his vast collection of Christmas village houses featured a few years ago in the Perry County Tribune. Gene loved his home which he and his brother Vito helped to build but most of all he loved his family.

Gene leaves behind a large and caring family including his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Sharon Lee Dibari; Remembering him as a kind and generous brother are Mary Schooley of New Lexington, Jim Dibari of Junction City, Vito (Sally) Dibari of Sandusky, and Rose (Carl) Mira of Bellevue; Also surviving are Gene's many aunts; nieces; nephews; cousins; and special Aunt Rosaline Epifano; and special buddy, Ken Sweeney.

Preceding him in death were brothers, Rocco (Rocky) and Anthony (Tony) Dibari.

His family and friends will miss his loving leadership, continual thoughtfulness, and unfailing generosity. They loved him so.

Calling hours will be held from 3pm-8pm with Rosary at 6pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 119 W. West Water Street, New Lexington, with Father James Csaszar as celebrant. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.

Sharon and Family, I'm so sorry to hear of Genos passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Geno will always be with us at Diamond. The new guys always get a laugh when I tell them that Geno was the only Foreman that ever sang to us. When Bob Gilbert and I was loading beams on a truck, he sang Bridge Over Troubled Water. He was a Great Guy.
GOD BLESS

Dear Sharon and all the Family,
Please accept my sincere and deepest sympathy at Gene's passing. He was such a good and always pleasant man. I truly enjoyed singing in the choir at St Rose when he sang and directed. He taught and challenged me to learn music and did it with encouragement and humor. He will be missed, but we know where he is because of his deep faith. Keeping you in thought and prayer, Connie Walker

To my Uncle Eugene who was the youngest brother of my father, Anthony(Tony)Dibari, whom he preceded in death. Knowing in heart that not only my father, but my Uncle Rocco as well as my grandparents were there to greet him over on his journey to the other side. Rest in peace Uncle Eugene.
