Rev David Joe Blosser

NEW STRAITSVILLE: Rev David Joe Blosser 82 of New Straitsville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday August 22, 2016 at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster.

He was born July 15, 1934 in New Straitsville the son of the late William L. and Hazel Parkinson Blosser.

He was a full time minster of 42 years at the Old Town Baptist Church, he was a faithful servant of God and was a friend to everyone he met; he retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol after 22 years, he was a former employee of Dutro Ford; he was a U.S. Army veteran; He built King Midget cars as a hobby and could fix EVERYTHING.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Bernice Blosser; his daughter Debbie J. (Dennis) Blosser Pongratz of Corning, 2 grandchildren Chris (Gary) Kirkpatrick of New Straitsville and Josh (Cassie) Riley of Corning; 4 great-granddaughters Caitlyn (Montana) Kirkpatrick Altier, Brittney Kirkpatrick, Abbie and Averie Riley; 1 great-great grandson Hunter Boe Altier; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday August 26, 2016 at the J.E. HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Old Town Baptist Church, New Straitsville with Rev Monty Hurst officiating. Interment: New Straitsville Cemetery.
