Consuella M."Connie" Dunkle

NEW STRAITSVILLE: Consuella M. "Connie" Dunkle, 88, of New Straitsville, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at her home.

She was born February 3, 1922 in Gore, the daughter of the late Samuel and Icely Stephenson Nixon.

She was a member of the New Straitsville United Methodist Church, New Straitsville Lighting Committee, Eastern Stars, Charter Member of the New Straitsville History Group and she was the Past President of the New Straitsville Library. She was a former assistant Librarian for the New Straitsville Elementary.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam (John) Nutter; sons, Tim (Connie) Dunkle, Bob (Cindy) Dunkle; brother, Bill (Kate) Nixon; grandchildren, Curt (Vickie) Nutter, Cindy (Chris) Altier, Cherie (Brett) Irwin, Lynsi (Matt) Shaeffer, Emily (Jake) Denny, Janell (Scott) Hunter, Brittani and Paige; great-grandchildren, Leslie (Steve) Lucas, Brittany (Robbie Throckmorton) Altier, Kyle Nutter, Zach Nutter, Sydney Hunter, Clay Hunter, Abbigail Denny, Addison Shaeffer and Aiden Shaeffer; sisters-in-law, Peggy Nixon, Georgia Nixon and Carlena (Bob) Kreitz; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Warren Dunkle; sister, Elaine Blankenship; brothers, Harold, Loren, and Don Nixon.

Friends may call any time after 2 p.m. on Friday, November 5, at the J. E. Humphrey Funeral Home 118 W. Walnut Street, Shawnee.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the New Straitsville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating.

Interment in New Straitsville Cemetery.
