Daniel Deely Obituary
PICKERINGTON: Daniel Patrick Deely, 51, of Pickerington, Ohio, died Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2012 at his residence.
Dan was born September 19, 1961 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of William E. and Frances L. "Tink" Snider Deely of Columbus.
He had attended St. Phillips Catholic Church, was a 1978 graduate of Walnut Ridge High School, and attended Ohio University. He was a Marine Corps veteran where he was awarded the highest expert shooter and was the youngest in his class at Paris Island. Dan was co-owner/operator of STOPWATCH Pizza for 17 years and was currently employed by the 7UP Bottling Co. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and loved hunting, trapping and nature.
In addition to his parents, Dan is survived by two daughters, Kristina McEowen and Maggie Deely, both of the home; their brother, Zaqari Mott of Colorado; three sisters, Kathleen (Steve) Spencer of Indianapolis, IN, Julianne (Brian) Deely-Frost of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Deely and Edwin Miller of Baltimore, OH; and one brother, William D. (Donna) Deely of Pickerington.
Dan is preceded in death by a daughter, Katie M. Deely (2011); a brother, Michael A. Deely (2007); grandparents, Web and Julia Snider and William A. and Marcella Deely.
Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m, Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

may god be with you in your time of need.I will truly miss Dan. When he started at 7up we began talking about the old neighborhood and became good friends. I already miss seeing him in the 7up parking lot before we begin our day at work. Seeing that big grind on his face made my day.

Dear Friend,
Fourty-seven years ago my family moved in next door to yours. It wasn't long before the older boy across the street introduced us. We soon became best friends. The memories that are brought to mind now. We shared a lot of good times, and some not so good. We had our ups, and we had our downs. (I carry those lessons learned with me in my life today). We spent a lot of time together in our first 20 years of friendship. We haven't seen much of each other or even talked much lately, only an occasional chance meeting. The last of which I have a picture of hanging on my refrigerator. We talked for hours that night, reminiscing about the past and trying to predict the future. I realized today that, that time was more years ago than I had remembered. It seemed like yesterday.
A time came when I went my way and you yours. But neither one of us ever forgot about the other. As the years went by I thought I should give you a call, but never did. I always thought there would be another time to do so. As I get older the years go by faster and faster. Maybe tomorrow I will make that call. After all there will always be tomorrow. But, for some, tomorrow doesn't come. I had all those years to pick up a phone, but I was to busy for a five minute conversation.
Now my friend is gone. God bless you Daniel Patrick Deely.
