Donald Hashman Obituary

Donald L. Hashman

Donald L. Hashman, 71, passed away on March 12, 2009.

He was born in Barberton on January 12, 1938 to the late John and Martha Hashman. Donald served with the U.S. Marines and retired from Hudson Printing after 17 years of service. He was a former member of the Cathedral of Tomorrow. Donald was a current member of the Chapel of Prayer where he was active with the van ministry, the church choir, and the family outreach ministry. He was also a member of the Masons. Donald enjoyed live gospel music, walking in the parks, and traveling.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley; brother, David; sister, Barbara; and grandson, Ezekiel. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughters, Dawn (William) Cooper, Lori Abed (Howard Baldwin), and Emily Flaitz (Gary Vestal); sons, Robert (Evelyn) and Michael (Karen); stepdaughters, Tammy (Matthew) Smith and Tina (Lyle) Campbell; sisters, Patricia Burns and Rebecca (Louie) Sayre; brother, Jerry (Nina); 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Hospice Care Center for their kindness.

Calling hours will be Monday, 12 to 2 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service at 2 p.m., Pastor Sherman Bailey officiating.
