Dear Jan & family,
George was a great boss and mentor the few years I worked for him in the Fire Division in Kent. My father, Al Nash, had the utmost respect for him and passed that along to the rest of the family when we took over the business after his passing. My mother loved the special lunches he surprised her with after my father's death. George was a very special man and I was pleased to have known him.

I was very sad to her about George's passing. He was an exceptionally kind and very sincere person. George had a joy of life. He always had a smile for you and good solid hand shake, lighting up the room with his positve energy. I always felt great after a good chat with George. Back in 1998, I remember he took me to breakfast. I hadn't seen him in years. He started out the conversation, "Dave lets put it on rewind and tell me what you've been doing with yourself." George always was more interested in what you were doing and where you were going. George was a magnanimous individual who will be deeply missed.

It is with great sadness to hear of George's passing. Knowing George was truly an honor and a privledge. A real gentleman in every aspect. He was a very giving man, especially giving of his time. He was always ready to listen; a very admirable quality. The advice he gave me as a young married father still stays with me today. On more than a few occassions George would run across the parking lot to give us guys at the Fire Division 5 bucks and tell us to "go get a milkshake". He would smile and laugh as only George could.

Dear Jan & Family,

I was so saddened to hear of my friend George's passing - my deepest and heartfelt condolences. He was a great guy - a man of fine wisdom and love. Jan - I will never forget how you both helped me along in my time of need and the times that we all shared with my parents both as a child and as an adult. I look forward to seeing him again one of these days - the one consoling factor. He is in a much better place - a place of kindness and love.

Shirley and I were fortunate to have been at the funeral home last Friday and at the church service and subsequent reception on the following day. It gave us a wonderful chance to see Jan and the family and to say good bye to George. There is so much to say. But, in a short space, we can only say that we won’t forget what a truly great guy he was with always the big broad smile, the firm clasp and hug and his wonderful way of listening to and taking a sincere interest in others.
He is with the Lord now and in His loving care. No more pain; no more turmoil from the devouring cancer. We pray for Jan and the great family that she and George created and nurtured. We hope that they will continue to be in the Lord’s care and surrounded by His Love.

The Parry Family,

My heart goes out, George was the kindest man I know, I worked for Parry Home Medical for 11 yrs and I also remember the flowers the girls received on Valentines day, so many good memories of him, I can go on and on, he had such a kind and gentle spirit. You know what though, he is one of the lucky ones, no more pain or suffering. The bible tells us: When the soul is absent from the body we are present with the Lord, what a wonderful thought, we all love our loved ones but God loves us best, I will pray that god will continue be your guide and bring much comfort to your hearts.
GOD BLESS YOU

Dear Jan and Family,
Matt and I were deeply saddened to hear of George's passing. George was very special to both Matt and I, as well as our whole family. We both share many fond memories of the times we spent with George and "the crew" at the cottage. I always felt special when George would take the time to ask about how teaching was going, or what was new and exciting in the north. I know that Matt too has very fond memories of George - he frequently brings up special memories, like the laughs shared every labour day when taking the docks out. We will miss George's smiles, laughter, and contagious happy nature. Our thoughts and prayers are with you more than ever.
With love and sincere condolences,
Mathew and Jennifer

Jan, Liz, Tom & Bob,
We are so sorry to hear about wonderful George, he will be missed. We couldn’t have asked for better neighbors growing up and having the pleasure of being so close. I remember coming to visit you both in Florida when I lived there, that was so much fun.

In all the years of knowing George, I do not think I ever saw him without that beautiful smile on his face. It was an honor to know him and be in his presence. He always made you feel that you were the most important person and that he cared so deeply. He had a heart of gold. I am grateful Kent had the blessing of meeting him, if only briefly. It didn't take but a few minutes when speaking with him to know how special he was. My memories are so special and dear to me, I will remember him always.

Our prayers go out to you all during this difficult time.

Love,
Kent & Robin Pifher
