Richard Gerrond Obituary

Richard Allen of Edmond died Saturday, 1/15/05 near Dallas, TX as a result of a skydiving accident. He was born 10/8/57 in Aurora, IL to Donald Gerrond & Ruth (CroegaertGerrond) Jensen and was raised in Atkinson, IL. Rich received his BS from IL State in 1979. He was Vice President for Energy Risk Associates, Inc. of Dallas, TX. He was a CPCU, CIC, ASLI. He was a member of the Church of the Servant in OKC. He loved & excelled at any sport attempted and was active in coaching youth sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bill Jensen of Springfield, IL. Survived by wife, Ann Gerrond; daughter Mindy, and son Randy, all of Edmond; brother Dennis Jensen of Atkinson, IL, and sister Barb Doubet of Annawan, IL. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 1/18/05 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of the Servant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Nat'l Foundation for Cancer Research.

Even though I only knew Rich a short time, he left such an impression with his bright smile, warmth and energy for life! We've had his picture on our office wall for months, reminding us of his skydiving stories and the enthusiasm he had for the sport! He was such a kind spirit, and he will be sorely missed.
