I'm sorry that it has taken so long to send any prayers or thoughts of sorrow to the family of a fine soldier as PFC Blohm. I'm SSG Fisher and I was in Allen's unit in Alaska ( HHC 425th BSTB ). There isn't a day that goes by that something doesn't triger thoughts and memories of that day. Because on that day I asked him if I could take his place. I to this day still wish that I would have taken his place. I'm sorry to open old wounds or cause pain in memories. All I really want to say is I'm sorry for your lose and that I wish that it would have been myself instead of Allen. I hope no offense was cause by this entry.

Re: PFC Alan R Blohm
Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,700 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families. War does not discriminate – It breaks my heart to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to you. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,500 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com. If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Alan, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

To the blohm family,
I wasnt a great friend of alans, but I had a few good times with him. My heart and prayers are with you all. There is a memory that sticks in my head about alan. At this time i didnt know alan, we were sitting in the recruiting office. He said to me so hows the golf team this year?? I kinda blew him off, cuz i thought he was one of those big football players that enjoyed teasing golfers. So i kinda was like why do you care? He looked at me, said some things and made me feel like crap. Mainly because i judged him by the cover. The next year i definitely got to know alan better. I found out fast how great of a guy alan is. I'm glad I got to meet him, and spend some fun nights with him. He'll definitely be in my thoughts for the years to come.

Al- Every day I ask why...why did you have to leave us, why did you want to be a soilder ? I remember from last last summer i asked you so many times "arent you afraid?" and you would always reply "if everyone was scared then who would protect us ?" I just wish that for once my brave cousin could have been the one scared and still be here with me today. Its such a selfish thought. I know you became a soilder for a great reason : to help people.I appriciate you and what youve sacraficed for me.Im so angry at myself for taking our relationship for granted. I'm not the greatest cousin. I could have wrote more or talked longer. I dont thiknk i will forgive myself for not cherishing the time with you. I want more memories though and I cant have them. I keep pondering the question of why you...why my cousin..i know the answer but even though i tell myself everyday that you and Lorissa are together, my pain wont ease up. Im so scared to lose alisha, al,cyle, jermey, jaimee, kaelin, chandler, Chelsea and my own baby brother and sister. I cant imagine what Kiana and jermey are going through.PLEASE be here for us...i need you...Kiana and jermey...they need you...especially your mom and dad...Pray for us..be my other gaurdian (besides lorissa)...let us know your here...I will never forget you...lets make a deal: keep me in your heart and I will keep you in mine forever .When I'm in alaska on the beach watching the boats come in and the smell of dead fish I will always see a clear picture of a bald fisherman with the March nose in fishy slimey oil skin overalls in a checkered plaid button up with torn sleeves and a bright glowing smile.I loved our trips to the tesoro to buy nachos at 2 in the morning on Aunt di's credit card. Or like the time we hit the moose. And no one I mean no one could make chicken like you. No one can take my memories. I love you and thank you for not being scared.Love always your "kousin" (another great funny moment)

“Soldier”
To Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

To The Family of Pfc Alan Blohm,
Our hearts go out to you during this difficult time. It is never easy to lose a loved one, but losing a child is the most difficult death anyone can face. Our son was a Marine and died in July of 2005. We know first-hand the pain you are suffering. There is unfortunately nothing we can say to ease your pain, the days ahead will be difficult. The only comfort we have is our wonderful memories. No one can take your memories from you. On the darkest days, think of your son and the special times you spent together. We still struggle everyday with the emptiness that the death of our son has left us with. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We thank your son for serving our country. He is a true hero. Our sons are angels now watching over us. May God bless you and your family, we will pray for you.

We always enjoyed our campfires, barbeques, and telling fish stories with other fisherman from up and down Salamatof Beach. His smile was radiant, his heart was gentle and kind and his determination to serve our country was and is so very admirable. Our summers in Alaska will never be the same.

To the family of Alan Blohn
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of Alan.
I didn’t have the honor to know him, but, I know members of his family as I went to school with some, many years ago.
I too, choose to serve in the army after college and chose to make it a career.
I have lost many a friend over the years.
There are no words to soften the pain, grief or discomfort felt in any ones heart.
Let it be known that His death has not gone in Vain, but has strengthened this countries resolve to keep our way of life free.
I regret I can not make the funeral and stand beside you in uniform to honor him.
All military members, Active, Retired, National Guard, and Reserves, feel a pain much as yours, as he and all fallen Soldiers, Marines, Airman and Sailors, belong to a family that is as selfless as yours. We all stand, willing to give the ultimate gift. We all feel freedom isn’t free, and want to protect this way of life we have in this country. (FREEDOM)
My deepest sympathies to you, and all families of the fallen military members that have passed.

My deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Pfc. Blohm. He gave his life in honor of his country and fellow man and for that we must be eternally grateful.
May God Bless you and Alan and in the days ahead may he give you the strength to endure your heartaches. The happy memories you have of your son will always be with you even while he is resting in peace in the loving arms of God.

To the family of PFC Alan Blohm - the only tie that I have to Alan is that we are both graduates of Bay City Western. Many times tragedies are felt, but when they happen close to home, they are magnified and made real. To serve one's country and die in it's duty is, in my opinion, the greatest sacrifice a person can make. Thank you for instilling the characteristics that Alan showed in life, and will carry on forever.

Chris, Denise, and family,
We are devastated over the loss of your beautiful son. There are no words that will give you comfort right now, just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and certainly with Alan. We grew up in Kawkawlin with Chris, Lori, Patty, Gayle, and the whole gang, but I am sorry I never got to meet Alan. My husband is retired military who served in Desert Storm and we know what a sacrifice it must have been just to watch Alan go. What a brave young man! He will be sadly missed by a country that needs young people like him. Love to you all.

Pfc. Alan R. Blohm
you are my hero
may god keep you in his arms forever.

To the Family of Pfc. Alan R. Blohm:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
