Robert Reinhardt Obituary

Robert Charles Reinhardt, 94, returned to his Father in Heaven, at his home, on Sept. 5, 2008.

Robert was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 2, 1914, to the late Fred W. and Osie (Ritter) Reinhardt.

On Nov. 27, 1957, he married his sweetheart Ilene Lindenberg at the 1st Baptist Church of Auburn. Robert and Ilene celebrated 50 years together in 2007.

Robert graduated from the University of Illinois in 1935 with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, after which he joined Dow Chemical Co. where he worked and retired after 30 years.

Robert played tennis when he was in college. He loved doing his family history, and he was a great fixer-upper around the house.

Robert is survived by his wife Ilene, nephew James Reinhardt and niece Jean Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Reinhardt.

The family will meet with friends on Monday Sept. 8, at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, with visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ed Laurence of the 1st Baptist Church of Auburn officiating.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Kings-Daughters Christmas clothing for kids.

I'm sorry for the loss of this great man. I was a caretaker for Robert for a few weeks. I worked with Ray of Hope along with Robert in making his life more comfortable.
Sorry to see him gone after doing so well when I was with him.
God Bless you all
