Dear Carl and Cathy,

In arriving at the office this morning, I was notified that Mom passed away on Friday. My condolences to your family. I am sorry that my schedule today will not permit me to attend the service. I know your faith will carry you through this huge loss, but I also know your memories of a loving and caring mother will as well.
