John Fisher

John Elmo Fisher EDENTON - John Elmo Fisher, 68, of the 300 block of Pima Trail, died Aug. 10, 2008, at Chowan Hospital. Mr. Fisher was born in Lynchburg, Va., the son of the late Ethel Mae Wright and Owen Edwin Fisher. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, the Moose Lodge and a member of the National Guard. He was a retired iron worker with Local 79 in Norfolk. Surviving Mr. Fisher are three daughters, Karen Pickering and husband Fred of Portsmouth, Jana Pecherek and husband Chris and Megan, all of Suffolk; two sons, Richard Fisher and wife Louann of Edenton and Rory Fisher of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Peggy White of Chuckatuck, Va., and Shirley Lee and husband Willie of Wake Forest, N.C.; one brother, Marvin Fisher and wife Martha of Sunbury, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
