Rita V. Albertson CHESAPEAKE - Rita von Lienen Albertson passed away peacefully in her home Aug. 12, 2008. She was born in Bremerhaven, Germany. Rita was the only child of the late Frieda Morgner and Johannes von Lienen. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Parker C. Albertson. Rita retired from Plasser American of Chesapeake after 17 loyal years. She was a devoted member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church. Always having a love for her church, she was active on several committees and sang in the choir for 30 years. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Michael, Chris and Gary, all of Chesapeake and two daughters-in-law, Cindy and Teresa. "Omi" leaves behind five grandchildren whom she adored, Ashley, Justin, Parker, Nick and Courtney. Her impact on their lives will always be felt. A host of extended family and friends, both locally and in Germany, will miss her as well. Those who knew Rita will remember her loving spirit and giving heart. She brought joy to those around her and she will be missed greatly. Her family, friends and church were always at the center of her life and she loved you all dearly. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Deep Creek United Methodist Church, 141 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. The Rev. Jonathan Bennett will officiate. Interment will be private. The viewing will begin Friday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorial donations be made to the Deep Creek United Methodist Building Fund, 141 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake, VA 23323.
