Evelyn C. Moore

Evelyn C. Moore CHESAPEAKE - Evelyn Carroll Moore, 95, passed away Aug. 14, 2008, in Chesapeake. A native of Norfolk County, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie Fentress, and was the widow of Elliott Carroll and Marvin Moore. She retired from the National Bank of Commerce as a secretary. She was a member of Parkway Christian Center, the Deborah Circle of Women's Ministries and the Ladies Bible Class. She was formerly active in women's water aerobics. Mrs. Moore is survived by her stepdaughter, Christine Carroll Jeffries of Blacksburg, Va.; her stepson, Thomas Moore of Virginia Beach; her stepgrandson, the Rev. Ron Moore of Tampa, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Parkway Christian Center, 601 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood officiating. The graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the church Sunday one hour prior to the service.
